Louth Beekeepers Assoc. Open Day, Sunday 9th July 2023

Event: Louth Beekeepers Association queen-rearing open day, in conjunction with NIHBS, the Native Irish Honey Bee Society

Date & Time: 9th July 2023, 14:00-16:00 (2pm-4pm)

Location: Kevin Griffin Apiary, as shown on the map below. From Junction 16 on the M1, travel towards Dundalk on the N52. Turn left onto the L7165 just before the first lights, signposted Ardee Road and Haynestown. Just around the corner is a gateway on the left, and this leads to the driveway to the apiary. There will be signs leading you to the site.

For those travelling from Dundalk, there is no right turn from the N52 into the L7165, and no turn from the L7165 from Dundalk. Instead, drive up to the M1 roundabout and back towards Dundalk on the N52, following the instructions above.

Tickets: From Eventbrite – €10 per adult, under-18’s free. However, it is essential that all attendees have tickets in advance in order to manage numbers. There will be no sales of tickets in the apiary – advance sales only, although you can purchase tickets right up to start time.

Attire: You must wear a clean bee suit and nitrile gloves will be provided.

Insurance: All attendees must be covered by insurance, i.e. they must be fully paid up members of an association affiliated to FIBKA or IBA or UBKA or INIB.

Note that Irish Bee Supplies will be on site to satisfy your beekeeping needs. You can also order items in advance for collection at the event.
