Mayo beekeepers queen rearing event

The Mayo Beekeepers Association along with the Connemara Beekeeping
Association in conjunction with the NIHBS are holding a Queen rearing
workshop on the 8th of June 2014 on the grounds of Mount Falcon Hotel,
Ballina, Co Mayo. The event will start in the hotel at 11am, where
registration will take place followed by a presentation on the importance
of the Native Irish Honeybee.

In the afternoon Mr Gerard Coyne, Mr Gervaise Padden, Dara Scott and Mr Sean
Osborne will hold practical demonstrations outside, working with the bees
on the grounds of the hotel. This hands-on experience will include cloake
boards, grafting, colony selection and all queen-rearing essentials. More
guest speakers and a programme of events will be announced in the coming
weeks. Registration for the day’s event will be EURO 25, which will include
lunch and tea prepared by the award-winning chefs of Mount Falcon. NIHBS members can register for EURO 20.
Equipment suppliers will also be attending. Looking forward to seeing you
