in recent weeks the Big Lottery Fund awarded the group with just under £10,000 to raise awareness of bees and bee keeping locally.
Members Jen Simpson from Donegal and Billy Chambers from Derry with be attending the NIHBS queen rearing training event in Minnowburn, Belfast on 3rd August.

That is splendid news. Perhaps other groups will now be encouraged to apply for grants. Saving the native bee is no less than saving our heritage. Well done Derry and District beekeepers.
