NUIG wants to bring back the native Irish honey bee

NUIG has joined forces with NIHBS (The Native Irish Honey Bee Society) to breed a strain that will be tolerant to the devastating Varroa Destructor parasite.

    I have a big lavander bush in my garden that i especially keep for the honeybees and at this time every year it is full of honeybees. This year their are NO bees so far and i am a bit worried as i love the little honeybee!!! I live in Lucan Co Dublin.
